The Idaho International Film Festival Foundation Announces temporary suspension 0f 2011 festival
The Idaho International Film Festival Foundation is announcing a temporary suspension of the Idaho International Film Festival which was planned to be held in March 2011.
Executive Director Lyle Banks says:
“In 2009 Bruce Fletcher and I made the decision to move the Film Festival to March to offer the festival a greater ability to attract films that are otherwise unavailable during other times of the year. This move would coincide with the hiring of a new, Boise-based Executive Director who would oversee all of the Foundation’s daily activities including fund-raising, P&L, film screenings, marketing and talent and event coordination. However, despite solid interest in the position, we have not yet been successful in filling this crucial role.
Moreover, the shrinkage of Local and State grants and sponsorships places a critical importance on a locally-based team. Therefore, it is necessary to announce the suspension of the film festival until our executive and leadership teams are reconstituted. Our plan is to have a team in place and ready to produce the festival for March 2012, and possibly a smaller showing in Boise in 2011.”
The Idaho International Film Festival Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization with its primary goal of promoting culture and arts in Idaho. The secondary goal of the organization is to highlight, encourage, and develop Idaho-based films.
