The town of Fairfield, Idaho is never far from Dayton Miller’s mind. It’s where his father, at 33, shot himself in the head. Now
almost 33 himself, he's broke, jobless, and desperate. Nothing’s going right for him — he bungles
job interviews, squanders the money he does have, and numbs his constant sense of failure with a steady stream of Budweiser. His
long-suffering girlfriend, Maddie, is the only person who sees Dayton for the man he could be, but she can no longer ignore that
Dayton’s broken promises are compromising the life they share with their young daughter.
When the landlord comes with an eviction notice, Maddie gives Dayton notice, too. Desperate to keep his family together, he ransacks
his estranged mother’s trailer for cash, but he finds more than he bargained for: a duffle bag full of methamphetamine belonging to
his mother’s volatile boyfriend. His fate is in that bag.
He contacts his good-natured dealer friend Kyle to help him move the stuff as fast as possible to pay his back rent and turn over a
new leaf with Maddie - but his actions trigger an unexpected chain of events. Soon Dayton is trapped in a skid-row motel, and forced to
come to terms with his own history, and the lifelong repercussions of a single decision. Fairfield, Idaho examines a struggle for
redemption.
